Resident Evil
Resident Evil 3 remake has been officially announced during the latest State of Play. Includes Resident Evil Resistance as an asymmetrical multiplayer mode.

It does look good, Sam has already awarded it GOTY 2020. If I wasn't such a coward when it comes to horror games I'd definitely play it.

Really need to get through RE2 beforehand! Once bought new Xbox as mine has pretty much died.

I'm with Liam on horror games nowadays but I loved RE3 when it first released, it's the best in the entire series in my onion.

Shame about your Xbox dude, but at least it held out until sale season.

Been playing RE2 (the new one) recently. My first Resi game actually. I'd say or the horror scale it is not too bad because it's quite action orientated. I also find the third person perspective helps with that. There is a lot more tension and panic than I am used to in games but it's manageable.

Anyway yeah, I am enjoying it a fair bit. It's kind of like a huge escape room with zombies and other monsters out to kill you. Will keep an eye out on the third when I finish it.

I am tempted to pick up the RE2 remake as it's so cheap now and just buy the unlock everything upgrade for £4 or whatever it is. Maybe blasting through everything with unlimited ammo will prove less terrifying.

To be honest I don't think unlimited ammo (at least for the pistols) would take that much away from the game. I had run out of ammo for a fairly long portion of the game, and I kind of just found it more annoying that I now had no way to defend myself and had to dash about everywhere and basically ignore the threats rather than deal with them.

Unlimited pistol ammo wouldn't do a great deal since zombies can still just get back up after 12 shots to the head. If it's unlimited ammo in all guns, you'd be set. It takes some learning, but it's possible to kill any zombie with a single shotgun blast to the head if you let them get really close and lurch at you, then time your counter just right.

That's what I'm saying though, unlimited ammo in all weapons and it removes the zombie threat entirely. With unlimited pistol ammo you keep a reasonable amount of the threat alive while not getting to the situation where you just have to leg it about for a prolonged period until you reach a new area and find ammo.

Resident Evil 3 Demo is out this week, and there's an open beta for Resistance mode coming later in the month.
