Rumours and Speculation

Sounds like yet another postponement to 2016 - Dead Island 2 this time. Had been looking forward to this (being someone who actually quite liked the first and didn't particularly hate Ripteide!) plus the trailer was pretty good.

another early fatality maybe - CD keys are selling Arkham knight premium keys (the retail game AND the season pass) for 22 pounds. Thas a near 75% discount off RRP, simply staggering and hints they are selling at a big loss to offload.

Damn, that is pretty surprising. Saw 20 mins of playable game and it looked good so am hoping that's just some robust price cutting there. Refuse to believe Rocksteady have made anything other than a good - if not great - game! Too many have already been pushed back for polish...

I feel the same way - bit mystifying but do see any misfortune as success for the consumer, as Warner Bros are developing a reputation as one of the worst for exploration - console specific dlc, preorder bonuses up the wazoo and a daylight robbery-esque season pass cost with story missions reserved.

A few theories - the combat feels a little stale for me now playing two games back to back and it doesn't sound like they have done anything to rejuvenate it. The PS4 exclusive content may of made xbox one fans hold back until a special edition is released with the timed stuff included. Or we are simply finally seeing people give up preordering, having been exploited by it for so long with subpar products.

fucking hell, how can they even dare to think about charging that? DMC was £30, Metro Redux was £30, MCC was £35.

It is odd, but I thought Origins was worth the £30 I paid and that's not as good as City, and doesn't evolve the gameplay in any way. The story was great, and I can see Knight having a great story, maybe a bit of an empty world with them expanding it to 5 times the size of City but for £22 for all the content? I didn't even hesitate.
...and if you tell that to the kids of today, they wont believe you!

Must say I'm tempted myself for much the same reason Bezza - while it may be up in the air whether it's going to earn its AAA status and price tag, it almost definetely be worth it when it's sat at indie game prices.

I must hold strong however - I cannot and will not be suckered into preordering anymore games until I have the quality proven. And I'll sound like a bit o a self righteous tw*t saying this (don't I always?), but I may not be happy but at least be much more content if I am paying them more money for a worthwhile product than taking the bargain option and getting a bargain product. I'm not against paying 70 pounds to play a game that's worth every penny of it.
